How Jyotish Path handles calculations, interpretation and sources

This page explains what the site calculates, how traditional rules are presented, where source profiles are kept separate, and which limits are deliberately disclosed rather than hidden.

1. Calculation and interpretation are separate layers

The Ascendant, sidereal planetary longitudes, Nakshatras, divisional-chart mappings and Vimshottari timelines are produced by deterministic code. These calculations answer what is structurally present in the chart.

Interpretation is a separate layer. Rather than turning one placement into a guaranteed life event, the course first audits house, sign, lordship, planetary condition, aspects, Vargas and timing context separately.

2. Source traditions are not silently merged

Classical texts and modern teaching conventions can formulate similarly named rules differently. Where that difference changes a calculation, the site exposes a source/profile choice or labels the teaching profile explicitly.

The goal is not to declare one book uniquely correct. It is to keep the rule set behind a displayed number or Yoga identifiable and auditable.

3. The course is original teaching material

Lessons are not copied from a modern book. The site explains traditional Jyotish concepts through its own step-by-step teaching structure, worked examples, checkpoints and interactive labs.

Where classical rules or modern references are used, source notes and documentation keep those references distinct. Any quoted external wording is kept limited and attributable.

4. Software testing and audit trail

The calculation engine includes regression and invariant tests so unintended changes in chart mapping, Dasha, Vargas, Ashtakavarga, the validated Shadbala scope and other rule layers can be caught early.

Interactive labs expose intermediate values because a final number without its working is harder both to learn from and to audit.

5. Deliberately bounded calculation scopes

Some advanced systems contain multiple traditional sub-methods. In those cases the site publishes only the scope explicitly defined by the current calculator and tests. For example, raw Ashtakavarga and the validated Shadbala subtotal are not presented as substitutes for every method in those traditions.

Stating a boundary is meant to prevent false precision. The course may explain an omitted layer conceptually, but the calculator does not silently treat an unimplemented layer as zero and manufacture a final score.

6. Predictions, health and financial claims

Jyotish Path presents traditional Jyotish as an educational framework. A personal reading may explain timing themes and chart evidence, but it does not guarantee events, diagnose medical conditions, determine legal outcomes or promise investment returns.

7. Privacy and local calculation

The core Kundli calculation is designed to run in the browser. Place text can be sent to a third-party geocoding service when birthplace search is used, but the core birth chart does not require a Jyotish Path account database.

Advertising and hosting providers can perform their own technical data processing; that is described on the Privacy & Ads page.
