How to count full aspect targets
Turn aspect rules into a repeatable counting method before attempting interpretation.
In this course, a full Graha Drishti target is counted from the planet’s own occupied house/sign as position one. The 7th place is therefore the house directly opposite the planet.
Counting wraps around after House 12. If a planet sits in House 10, the 4th place from it is House 1, the 7th is House 4, and the 10th is House 7. Writing the count explicitly prevents off-by-one errors.
Aspect direction matters. “Planet A aspects House X” is an outgoing relationship from A. It does not automatically mean every planet in House X also aspects A back.
The geometry used here is the course’s full-sign Parashari teaching model. Exact degree separation can still be inspected separately, but degree closeness does not change which full-sign targets this rule engine assigns.
Always write the geometry before the interpretation: planet → occupied house → aspect rule → target house. Only then add the target house lord, occupants and other chart factors.
How to read it
- Write the planet’s occupied house as count 1.
- Count forward to the required aspect number.
- Wrap House 12 back to House 1.
- Record each target once.
- Then inspect the target house and its occupants.
Key points
- Count from the planet, not from Lagna.
- The starting house is count 1.
- Aspect is directional unless both planets independently aspect each other.
Apply it to a chart
Mars in House 2: 4th aspect → House 5; 7th aspect → House 8; 8th aspect → House 9.
Saturn in House 6: 3rd aspect → House 8; 7th aspect → House 12; 10th aspect → House 3.
Do not count the next house as “1.” The planet’s own house is the first place in aspect counting.
Apply this lesson to a chart
- Choose Mars, Jupiter or Saturn in Kundli Lab.
- Write its occupied house.
- Predict all full-aspect targets by hand, then compare with the inspector.
