Mars: 4th, 7th and 8th full aspects
Master Mars special aspect geometry without confusing relative aspect numbers with absolute house numbers.
Mars has the ordinary full 7th-place aspect and, in this course profile, additional full aspects to the 4th and 8th places from itself.
These are relative positions, not absolute Houses 4 and 8. Mars in House 10 therefore aspects Houses 1, 4 and 5 by its 4th, 7th and 8th aspects respectively.
A Mars aspect to a house is first a structural contact. To interpret it, inspect what that house represents in the current chart, the Rashi there, its lord and any planets occupying the house.
If Mars aspects a planet, keep both layers visible: Mars is making a full-sign contact, while the receiving planet still retains its own lordships, dignity, conjunctions and other aspects.
Do not translate “Mars aspects” automatically into conflict or damage. Traditional interpretation depends on Mars’s functional role, condition and the full evidence bundle.
How to read it
- Locate Mars.
- Count 4th, 7th and 8th places from Mars.
- List the target houses.
- Check occupants in those houses.
- Interpret only after Mars condition and house context are known.
Key points
- Mars aspects 4/7/8 from itself in this profile.
- Aspect numbers are relative.
- A Mars contact is not automatically a negative verdict.
Apply it to a chart
Mars in H10 → H1 by 4th aspect, H4 by 7th aspect, H5 by 8th aspect.
Do not say “Mars always aspects House 4 and House 8.” It aspects the 4th and 8th places from wherever Mars sits.
Apply this lesson to a chart
- Find Mars in your D1 chart.
- Calculate the three targets without the app.
- Check whether any target contains another planet and write the geometry only.
