Dasha plus transit — two timing layers

Use Dasha for the active period context and transit for current sky contacts without making either layer manufacture natal promise.

Dasha and transit answer different timing questions. Dasha identifies which natal period lords are active; transit shows where moving planets are currently placed relative to the natal chart.

Begin with natal structure, then identify the active Dasha lords, and only then inspect transits relevant to the same house, planet or topic. This keeps timing anchored to visible natal evidence.

A useful convergence occurs when an active Dasha lord and a major transit both contact the same natal topic. Record this as repeated timing evidence, not as proof that one specific event must happen.

If Dasha and transit point to different topics, do not force agreement. The period can contain several simultaneous life themes.

For short-term work, Pratyantardasha can narrow the Dasha layer while transits add current contact. The course still uses conditional language because narrower timing does not create scientific certainty.

STEP BY STEP

How to read it

  1. Map natal topic first.
  2. Identify MD/AD/PD lords as available.
  3. Inspect their natal connections.
  4. Check current transits to the same evidence bundle.
  5. Write convergence and divergence separately.
REMEMBER

Key points

  • Dasha and transit are separate timing layers.
  • Repeated contact can strengthen timing relevance, not certainty.
  • Natal structure remains the anchor.
⚠ Common mistake

Do not search transits for an event before establishing whether the natal chart and active Dasha actually contain the relevant theme.

DO IT YOURSELF

Apply this lesson to a chart

  1. Choose one topic such as career.
  2. Write its natal evidence bundle.
  3. Add current Dasha links, then only transits that contact that same bundle.
